A former secondary school English teacher, Dorothy has taught at the Beckett School since 1986.  Lessons in prose or poetry include attention to relaxation, breathing, articulation, projection and tutoring.  These exerciese foster students' enjoyment of speaking and performing and result in a growing self-confidence.

Students achievement include the following:

(a) Acceptance to post-secondary drama programs in Ontario or New York.

(b) Success in optional examinations in Speech and Drama.  These examinations, of international standards, are set  by Trinity Guildhall of London England.

(c) Excelling in Drama competitions at the annual Stratford Kiwanis Festival of Performing Arts.  Such successes and continued support and encouragement often result in students' growing stage presence and maturity.

At home, Dorothy's hobbies include photography, English handbell ringing, horticulture and enjoying time with grandchildren.
